課程概述	本課程由彭武康、柯俊成二位老師合授課。以昆蟲幼體期如幼蟲、稚蟲及若蟲之特徵作為分目或科之分類方法，及各目昆蟲之生物學。不僅僅是區別異同、鑑定名稱，還要進而研究物種的淵源、自然位置，借以闡明自然界物種間以及類群間的親緣關係，建立符合客觀的分類系統。並以種群的觀點，研究物種起源、分佈中心、昆蟲進化的過程和趨向，以及整個昆蟲區系的形成、發展和演替，使我們能夠更有效地控制有害昆蟲和利用有益昆蟲。
課程目標	以昆蟲幼體期如幼蟲、稚蟲及若蟲之特徵作為分目或科之分類方法，及各目昆蟲之生物學。是昆蟲學和動物分類學的一個重要分支，而且是昆蟲學其他所有分支學科的基礎，如果不先對昆蟲進行科學的分類，就無法以科學的模式研究昆蟲，影響到其他研究結果的客觀性、可比性和重複性，甚至給人類的生產和生活帶來一定的損失。因此，學習好昆蟲分類具有重要的理論和現實意義。
課程要求	評分標準：期中考(30%)；期末考(30%)；標本(25%)；專題報告(15%) 上課地點：昆蟲館201教室上課時間：週四(5, 6, 7, 8)、週五(5, 6, 7, 8)
